Del Sol Bicycle Motor Kit Review

May 18th, 2018

I never do anything fast. It took two years of contemplating before I finally relented and ordered the Honda GX35 Golden Eagle Bicycle Engine kit, and then it took four evenings of tinkering with it just to install it. Not that it was difficult, because it wasn’t. That’s just how I am. I followed the instructions to the letter and went over and over everything several times to make sure it was done correctly. I admit I was a little afraid of my own abilities but there was no need for worry. When I finally pulled that rope and the engine started I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.

I installed this kit on my 2014 Del Sol comfort bike, pictured here on the rack of my Jeep. It goes faster than I want to go, but I had to briefly open it up a couple times just to see what it would do. According to my bike speedometer it goes 28 mph right out of the box and I once hit 31 mph downhill with a tail wind. I learned right away there are not many streets where I live that are smooth enough for top speed. But I also learned that I don’t have enough paper towels at home to wipe this grin off my face.

I love this product and can’t believe I waited so long! Thank you for your job well done.
