The High Torque Design (HTD) is equal to
the geared belt drive of fine motorcycles
that have converted to geared belt drive.
We have been working on these up-grades in
anticipation of adding an even more powerful,
high torque engine to our product line. This
engine is much more powerful, and Knowing
how our customer enjoy riding Hard - we wanted
the drive system to hold up to the most demanding
rider - without Any problems.
Even on the smaller engines,
the difference
is remarkable - the wheel
turns more easily
and with less resistance
to moving parts
resulting in an even Smoother
ride. Due to
extremely positive customer
feedback, we
decided to make HTD Standard
on All our units.
The teeth of Ring, Gears
and Belt have a
different pitch, capable
of delivering 95%
of the engines power to
the wheel - 15% more
than the original (XL)
drive design. Reduced
tension and friction increases
performance,
reduces wear and increases
life of all components
of the drive system.
The new High Torque Design
(HTD) drive components
are:
- HTD Drive Ring - less resistance allows for
148 teeth in the belt track for better, no
slip traction.
- HTD Kevlar Belt - with teeth twice as deep
and backing twice as thick - has twice as
many wrappings of Kevlar in the backing.
- Four HTD gears: #11, #12, #13, #14 Heat Treated
(file hard) for long
life.
- 11 and 12 tooth gears are recommended for
the 25cc Robin (#11=Standard).
- 11, 12 and 13 tooth gears are recommended
for the 25.4cc Zenoah, 26cc Tanaka and the
35cc Robin (#12=Standard).
- 12, 13 and 14 tooth gears are recommended
for the 40cc Tanaka (#13=Standard).
