| How to Tweak the mount kit for proper belt
tracking - max belt life. |
To check proper belt tracking, remove Safety
Cover, roll bike slowly - belt should track
down the center of the gear -
The belt running tight
on either side of
the drive gear, indicates
the mount is not
properly aligned - standing
at rear of bike:
| 1. The front of the engine mount bracket is
pointed to the right or left - loosen one
engine mount bolt (either bolt), push front
of the engine to the left. Roll bike forward
and watch the belt, you can move the belt
tracking by moving the front of the engine
to the left or right. Note - moving the front
of the engine/mount to the left makes the
belt track to the left/outside. Moving it
to the right, makes it track to the right/engine
side. Tighten nut and bolt when tracking
is straight. |
IF - belt still does not
track down the center,
there is another adjustment
you can make
-
| 2. Loosen axle nuts, raise right or left side
of strap (*) slightly, torque nuts securely
when adjustment complete. |
(*) - raising the strap on the engine side
will make the belt run to the left (opposite),
lowering the strap on the engine side, makes
the belt track to the right or toward the
engine. The left side of the strap has the
same (but opposite) effect.
