Hi,
My experience with the golden eagle bike
engine has been great. I've had it for about
2 years now, and have had minimal problems,
considering the abuse I put it through. I
installed it on my mountain bike - an old
steel frame Specialized Stumpjumper (pre-shocks).
I guess that I've put about 1,500 miles on
it.
The main reason I purchased the engine was
because I needed a shuttling option to get
me to trailheads. Typically, I'll park the
car at the bottom of the trail, and then
motor up dirt or paved road to the trail-head.
Depending on whether the trail has much climbing,
I'll either take the motor off (takes only
about 5 minutes) and stash it near by, or
just disconnect the drive-belt (takes <
1 minute).
Having this shuttling option has expanded
my riding range tremendously, and I can easily
do 20 miles of fantastic single-track riding
in a day. Even though I didn't plan on it
when I bought the engine, I now also look
forward to motor ride as well.
